Message for St. Benedict's Families
Dear St. Benedict’s Families,
First, the Holy Name community is saddened to hear that another Catholic school in San Antonio is closing its doors. I know that the plan is for a Child Development Center to open next year, but for many of you that means you will be looking elsewhere for a strong Catholic education for your child. I want to offer the prayers from our parents and students as your children have to make a transition to another school. I have been in constant contact with many of your fellow parents and some have already decided to join our community next year. I want to extend an invitation to you and your children to come by and visit Holy Name Catholic School. While we will never be able to reproduce the special feeling you have grown accustomed to at St. Benedicts, I believe you will find that our community has many special blessings that it can offer you.
We are happy to say that Mrs. Monica Lopez, assistant principal at St. Benedict’s, will be joining our staff as a 5th grade teacher next year. We are also evaluating other staff members at St. Benedict’s to see if we can find an opportunity for them to teach at Holy Name.
One of our primary goals to assist St. Benedict’s families is to offer as many of you as possible a new educational setting at Holy Name for your child/children. In doing this, we feel that a small part of the St. Benedict’s community can be preserved and made a part of our community here at Holy Name. We would like to see a number of St. Benedicts students in each of our classrooms next year. Hopefully friendships can be preserved and strengthened and new friendships formed as your child joins us here at Holy Name Catholic School.
I was very excited to register two wonderful second grade girls last week from St. Benedicts and hear from their parents that they are best friends and inseparable. It makes me feel good to know that this beautiful friendship between two special Catholic school children can continue here at Holy Name. Please consider this a personal invitation from me, the principal, to look over our website and come take a look at the special environment we have created for children at Holy Name. As a special note for those families with more than one child, we know that our tuition rates are higher than St. Benedict’s and we are committed to working with you to continue your child’s Catholic education. Don’t let posted tuition rates keep you from coming by for a visit.
We look forward to hearing from you. God bless.
In His Holy Name,
Chad Mills
Principal
